SITUATION
The site is situated in a sensitive environmental setting partially forming the headwaters to the East Don River system which has numerous groundwater upwellings critical to the healthy existence of both aquatic and plant life in this pristine area.
Aquatech was contracted to provide a full suite of our services supporting the infrastructure construction while protecting the biodiversity and aquifer systems.
APPROACH AND OUTCOMEs
Attaining necessary groundwater extraction and discharge permits, groundwater control and treatment solutions and implementing monitoring and mitigation measures.
The positive and passive groundwater control systems developed and employed on site were active for nearly two years with zero impact on the natural environment.
